About Us

The children at NEMO draw on the experience of the teachers with extensive experience as well as of the young teachers’ enthusiasm and energy.

* All descriptions for the teaching staff are taken from children’s opinions.

Nadezhda and Monika

Nadezhda Karamanska

Mrs-Know-All, Mrs-Do-All,
She works wonders.
Science is very easy with her.

(Mrs Rosi)

* "Minister of Learning". Strict but fair. “She scolds quietly”, but everybody hears her. She prepares “the grown-ups” for school but she also enjoys singing and dancing with all.

Monika Petrova -

She reaches the hearts with music,
She conquers our senses with songs
She wins the children over with love.
(Mrs. Rosi)

* "Master of music at NEMO". Mobile and innovative, she enriches the musical competence of the children not only in the hall, but also at the veranda, at camps, in nature… everywhere. Music is a priority of Frau Monika even when she teaches the children German.

Nina Mateeva

Nina Mateeva - child psychologist, a strategist with soft and velvet voice. She works with children of all ages – she monitors, assesses and analyzes the behaviour and the development of the Nemo kids. With her diverse academic experience she is one of the teachers at the Nemo School for parents.

Mrs. Milanova

Mrs. Milanova -

*„the light-fingered hands” at NEMO - she teaches creative application activities. In her work with children she uses a lot of aesthetics and finesse, materializing various original ides. Thus she fully proves Dr. M. Montessori’s claim that children’s intelligence is in their hands.

Vanina „Miss Diplomacy” - she will find the best solution in every situation with soft and warm voice. Vanina is Bachelor in Pre-School and Primery School Education. She considers working with children to be her career and she improves her knowledge by studying a master degree in Children’s psychology at Sofia University. Vanina works with children from 3 to 5-year-olds in all disciplines.

Todor Gadhalov / Teo - a real music & movie star. In addition to his assignments on the creation and performance of new Bulgarian hits, Teo is finishing his studies at “Pancho Vladigerov” National Music Academy, specializing in “Music Pedagogy”. The children at Nemo motivate him for further development as a music pedagogue in Bulgarian and English.

Ina

Ina -

Miss *„Morning Latino gymnastics” - friendly and energetic, she energizes even the most sleepy child. As a pedagogue Ina works with children from the middle age group – 3 to 5-year-olds in all disciplines.

Margarita Todorova Hristova is our nurse who takes care of the youngest children at NEMO. Just like the good ladybird from the children’s song, she is at each injured bunny’s disposal – to heal the injury and to say “Now it’s ok” with a smile on her face.

Tedi -
while helping her mother (Annie), she fell in love with Nemo’s kids and now she is taking care of them.

Ani and Gerry -
*”Fairies” of cleanness and valuable assistants to the children in their everyday responsibilities – do up or undo the jacket, to find a lost toy.... Very often you can see them dancing or singing and playing children’s musical instrument... because they also consider their job at NEMO to be a pleasure and fun.

Private kindergarten NEMO was established in 2006 by Nadezhda Karamanska and Monika Petrova with the following mission: to bring up and educate children with a lot of music by arousing in them the joy in communicating with it.

Nadezhda Karamanska comes from a family of musicians. She has been playing the piano since she was 4. In 1992 she specialized in teaching German language at kindergartens and elementary schools. Since 1989 she has been working as a children’s teacher and from 2002 till 2005 she worked as a trainer for trainers in Bulgarian language at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Preschool and Primary School Education.

Monika Petrova graduated with gold medal from the State Music School “Panayot Pipkov" in the city of Pleven. In 1994 she graduated from the State Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov”, Faculty of pop and jazz music in the accordion class of Associate Professor Georgi Galabov. In 1998 she was granted a scholarship by the Austrian Ministry of Science and Transport for a project on the history and education of accordion. In Austria she attended extra classes and practiced “Musikalische Früherziehung” (early age music education) at “Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst”, Graz Austria. Later on she attained two postgraduate degrees in "Primary School Education” and "Primary School Education with German” at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". In 1994 she started her professional career as a teacher in accordion, music in German, and from 2003 until 2005 she was a trainer for trainers at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Faculty of Preschool and Primary School Education.

Nadezhda Karamanska and Monika Petrova started implementing their project step by step following the main marketing principle of original and unique idea. The lack of a musical kindergarten on the private education market made them unfold their full potential.

Our educators understand and acknowledge children’s uniqueness and respect their individualities in the everyday exchange of knowledge and skills.

They develop their behavioural and verbal culture through verbal and non-verbal communication.
